Polyurethane Adhesive

Polyurethane adhesive is a type of adhesive suitable for use at low temperatures.

Polyurethane adhesive

Polyurethane adhesives have excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including rigid materials such as metals, glass, stone, and concrete, as well as flexible materials such as leather, fabric, paper, plastic films, and rubber.
Due to their wide performance range and diverse varieties, polyurethane adhesives have been widely used in many fields such as industry, civil construction, aerospace, national defense, medical and health care.
The main application fields are:
➤ For composite films. The polyurethane adhesive layer has good flexibility. Through the laminating and bonding process, different types of film materials such as polypropylene film, polyester film, polyamide film, aluminum foil, and aluminized plastic film can be bonded together to form a composite film with properties such as cold resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, transparency, and heat resistance. This composite film is used for soft packaging, such as sterilized cooking-resistant soft cans, convenient small packaging food bags (such as pickled vegetable bags, various small packaging preserved meat and snack bags), as well as packaging for medical devices and medicines, pesticides, single-component polyurethane sealants, and cable adhesive protective films, etc.
➤ For shoes. Generally, it is a crystalline polyurethane adhesive that meets the requirements of the shoe production line. Currently, in addition to the traditional solvent-based adhesives, water-based adhesives are also being gradually adopted.
➤ For transportation vehicle.  Mainly include: single-component wet-curing polyurethane sealant for assembling windshields, polyurethane structural adhesives (including reactive hot melt adhesives) for bonding glass fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) and sheet molding composite materials (SMC), two-component polyurethane adhesives for automotive interior parts, and water-based polyurethane adhesives, etc.
➤ For wood processing and bonding. Single-component moisture-curing polyurethane adhesives can be used as woodworking adhesives. Water-based vinyl-terminated polyisocyanate adhesives with PAPI as the crosslinking agent, and those modified by PAPI and emulsified can be used in the manufacturing of particleboard, strawboard, etc. These adhesives replace “trichloroaldehyde” wood adhesives and have good water resistance, making them important environmentally friendly adhesives. Single-component foaming polyurethane adhesives can also be used for bonding between wood boards, wood/steel plates, and wood/concrete, etc.
➤ For clothing industry. It can be used in the manufacturing of various garments, for flocking, and can also be used as coating glue and embossed coating.
➤ For buildings and sports venues. There is adhesive for plastic tracks, elastic structural adhesive for steel plates and plastic plates used in the construction industry, single-component foam sealant for filling cracks in buildings, and two-component polyurethane foam adhesive for sealing between foamed polystyrene insulation boards and color steel plates, between color steel plates and rock wool, and for sandwich panels.
➤ Applications in other fields. Including brush manufacturing, speaker speakers, some components bonding for robots, LED lamps, wind turbine blade manufacturing. Polyurethane hot melt adhesive is also used for wireless binding of books, etc.
